In partnership with ARMINES, the Ecole des Mines de Paris has been designated as a Carnot Institute (Institut CARNOT M.I.N.E.S). This distinction was awarded to the group of ecoles des mines in 2006 by the French government in recognition of their success in developing collaborative research partnerships with industry. The Centre also participates in the national clusters of competitiveness MOVE'O (automotive), ASTech (aeronautics and aerospace), System@tic (numerical systems), EMC2 (composites), i-Trans (transports) and Céramique (ceramics). It is also a member of several scientific clusters of excellence such as the Pôle Scientifique d'Evry Vals de Seine and Teratec.
