The objective of the "Behaviour and Design of Structures" (COCAS) division is to develop computer codes that accurately represent the behaviour and fracture of materials. The studies include a strong computer science component that includes software development. The models that are developed are compared with experimental results through research projects, in partnership with other divisions. Many partnerships are formed with outside laboratories in France and abroad.
This activity is supported by the technical group, which develops and ensures maintenance of the Centre~Rs computer resources, in particular the parallel computers.
